Advertising and Claims Standards

1. Listings must be true

• Do not overstate your audience, your downloads, your experience or your results.
• Any number you state must be one you can show evidence for if asked.
• Say plainly whether guests pay. A listing must not describe an interview as free and then ask for payment.
• Do not use another person’s name, photo, show or reviews as your own.
• Do not post testimonials that are invented, paid for without saying so, or written by you.

2. Your words and the system’s facts

A listing separates what you say about yourself from what the system has worked out. Facts such as verified interviews, reply time and when a show last published come from the system and cannot be edited. Everything else is your own statement and you are responsible for it.

3. Testimonials

A testimonial shown on a host’s testimonials page comes from a guest who was booked through Guest Booking System, who ticked a box agreeing to it being shown, and whose feedback the host approved. Testimonials are not written or edited by us.

4. Promoted places

Any place in the directory or in the weekly email that has been paid for is labelled “Promoted”.

5. What we say about ourselves

We hold ourselves to the same standard. We describe only what the system does, we give evidence for numbers we quote, and we do not make claims about other services that we have not checked.
